Commonly utilized in cafeterias, concession stands and ticket booths, our Rolling Counter Doors provide accessibility and security in interior and exterior finished wall openings. These doors are manufactured with smaller, more aesthetically pleasing door components – such as the guides, slats, brackets and hood – than traditional rolling doors, so they require minimal headroom and can be custom-fit into a wide variety of openings.

The roll up counter door can be configured to withstand the full range of specific wind load requirements including missile impact ratings.

Standard construction up to 21’ wide, 10’ high (limit of 180 square feet)
Wind load construction of up to 14′ wide, 10′ high (limit of 140 square feet)

Usage

Our Rolling Counter Shutters are constructed for daily use.

Operations

Our Rolling Counter Shutters can open by motor, hand-crank, or push-up operation, depending on size and/or weight.

Tubular Motors: Concealed tubular motors provide a solution for strict dimensional limitations around the header or aesthetic requirements that lend themselves to its smaller, compact design.

EverGard Tube Motor: The EverGard Tube Motor operator is ideal for openings with tight clearances around the coil area, when you need to neatly conceal the drive components without adding a bulky motor cover and for door control during a loss of power.

Sensing Edge

Sensing Edge – Entrapment Protection Device

Designed with a flexible black rubber TPE material, our new sensing edge has two fins that conform to variations in the floor on both the interior and exterior of your door or grille ensuring a secure seal without requiring you to overset the bottom door limit. The sensing edge is easy to clean and remains free from rust and dirt stains, maintaining a fresh uniform appearance. With flexible 1″ sealing fins, our sensing edges provide maximum protection while withstanding the elements.

Edges are tested and listed to UL 10B as a component of the rolling steel fire door assembly.

Our environmentally friendly Omni Powder Coat helps you to match your rolling steel door to select Clopay sectional doors.

Performance Upgrades

LED Visual Light Kit

The LED Light Kit provides a high-visible status indication for overhead doors and grilles. Designed for challenging environments like fire and emergency services, parking garages, and warehouses, the effective LED light strips limit downtime, maintenance, and repair costs.

Magic Switch

A touchless activation device designed to open and close doors with the wave of a hand. It’s compatible with all operators that have a primary entrapment device and are configured for momentary contact to close. The Magic Switch is easy to retrofit in an existing application and features a clean, stainless steel face plate.

Seismic Performance Validation

We can provide project specific seismic calculations for all coiling doors that are mounted Face of Wall to steel or masonry. Seismic performance validation is per ASCE 7-05.

Safety and Protection

SafetyGard UL325 Light Curtain

A UL325 approved non-contact primary entrapment device that prevents damage to an object in the door’s pathway in addition to minimizing damage to the closure itself.

Entrapment Protection Devices

Entrapment protection devices ensure that a motorized door or grille will not close on an object. If an object enters path of closure, the entrapment protection device will stop the door or grille from closing and return it to the fully open position.

Static Wind Load

Can be configured to withstand the full range of specific wind load requirements including missile impact ratings.

Unique Design Solutions

Integral Frame and Sill

Our Rolling Counter Shutters with Integral Frame and Sill are designed with reduced coil, bracket and header size (8″ minimum) to fit tight clearances.

Countertops

Countertops are available for a complete counter shutter closure solution, and can be UL rated.

Mullions

There are multiple mullion options – corner, fixed and removable.

Sloping or Irregular Openings

Our special bottom bar designs can address these conditions.

SmartSync Wireless Safety Edge Kit

SmartSync™ Wireless Safety Edge Kit & Wireless Remote Control

The Smartsync™ Safety Edge Kit is an upgrade for our existing Safety Edge. This allows for wireless communication between the transmitter and the receiver, eliminating the coiling cord in the door opening.

The Smartsync™ Wireless Remote allows wireless control of your door or grille. This heavy-duty remote comes equipped with an anti-shock design and is compatible with most motor-operated doors, grilles or counter doors.*
*Not compatible with NEMA 7/9 operators
